About Our Controllers

Are your controllers made from authentic Microsoft and Sony controllers?
Yes, absolutely. Every Custom Controllerzz build starts with a brand-new, genuine Microsoft or Sony controller — never refurbished, never third-party. For Xbox Series X/S and Elite Series 2 controllers, we use official Microsoft Xbox controllers. For PS5 controllers, we use official Sony DualSense wireless controllers. This ensures full compatibility, original performance, and reliability with your console.
What is the difference between the Custom Controllers, Designer Series, and Elite Series 2?
Custom Controllers (Xbox Series X/S and PS5): These feature a fully custom printed front shell in an exclusive design while keeping the original back shell and all stock buttons, thumbsticks, D-pad, bumpers, and triggers. No stickers, nothing that wears off — just a clean, sharp design built to last.

Designer Series (Xbox Series X/S and PS5): Our top-of-the-line custom controllers. These get a fully custom front shell plus colored inserts throughout — buttons, thumbsticks, D-pad, bumpers, and triggers are all part of the design. If you want the full custom look from every angle, the Designer Series is the way to go.

Elite Series 2: Built on the official Microsoft Xbox Elite Series 2 controller — the premium Xbox controller with adjustable thumbsticks, swappable paddles, hair trigger locks, and a carrying case. We customize the front shell with an exclusive design while keeping all the Elite hardware intact. Every Elite Series 2 order ships with the complete official accessory package.
Will my PS5 controller still have haptic feedback and adaptive triggers after customization?
Yes, 100%. We only work on the exterior shell of the controller. All internal components stay exactly as Sony built them — haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, the built-in speaker, microphone, and headset jack all work exactly the same as a stock DualSense. Our customization is purely cosmetic.
What systems are your custom Xbox controllers compatible with?
Our custom Xbox Series X/S and Xbox Elite Series 2 controllers are compatible with Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and PC.
What systems are your custom PS5 controllers compatible with?
Our custom PS5 DualSense controllers are compatible with PlayStation 5 and PC. You can connect via USB-C or Bluetooth just like a standard DualSense. Many PC games support DualSense features like haptics and adaptive triggers, and none of that changes since everything we do is cosmetic.
What comes included with the Elite Series 2 controllers?
Every Elite Series 2 order includes the complete official Microsoft accessory package: a carrying case, 6 thumb sticks (2 standard, 2 classic, 1 tall, and 1 wide dome), 4 paddles, 2 d-pads (standard and faceted), a thumbstick-adjustment tool, charging dock, and USB-C cable.

Performance Upgrades & Mods

What is the Rapid Fire mod and which controllers can I add it to?
The Rapid Fire mod is a chip upgrade popular among fans of first and third person shooters. With Rapid Fire enabled, semi-automatic weapons act as fully automatic — giving you a significant edge in gameplay. It is completely undetectable online and safe to use in multiplayer.

Rapid Fire is available on: Xbox Series X/S Custom Controllers, Xbox Designer Series Controllers, PS5 Custom Controllers, PS5 Designer Series Controllers, and our Build Your Own controllers.

Rapid Fire is not available on Elite Series 2 controllers.

Additional submodes included with Rapid Fire: Burst Fire, Akimbo (Dual Trigger Rapid Fire), Drop Shot, Jump Shot, Auto Run, Auto Sniper's Breath, Quick Scope, and Fast Reload.
What are TMR thumbsticks and are they worth it?
TMR stands for Tunneling Magneto-Resistance. Instead of the traditional contact points that standard controllers use, TMR sticks use magnets to track movement. That matters because the contact points on regular controllers wear down over time and eventually cause stick drift — where your character moves even when you're not touching the stick. TMR sticks don't have that problem since there's nothing to physically wear out.

If you game regularly, it's one of the best upgrades you can add. More precise, longer lasting, and you won't be dealing with drift down the road.

TMR thumbsticks are available on: Xbox Series X/S Custom Controllers, Xbox Designer Series Controllers, PS5 Custom Controllers, PS5 Designer Series Controllers, and our Build Your Own controllers.

TMR thumbsticks are not available on Elite Series 2 controllers.
What are Mouse Click face buttons and which controllers can I add them to?
Mouse Click face buttons replace the standard tactile buttons with a crisp, mechanical click feel — similar to a mouse click. They dramatically reduce button travel distance, resulting in quicker inputs and faster response time with every press.

Mouse Click face buttons are available exclusively on PS5 Custom Controllers and PS5 Designer Series Controllers. This upgrade covers the face buttons (excluding bumpers and triggers).
Can I add multiple upgrades to one controller?
Yes. You can combine upgrades on compatible controllers. For example, on a PS5 controller you can add both Rapid Fire and Mouse Click face buttons together. On Xbox Series X/S controllers you can combine Rapid Fire and TMR thumbsticks. Use our Build Your Own customizer to mix and match upgrades in real time and see exactly what you're getting before you order.
Are the mods safe for online gameplay?
Yes. Our Rapid Fire mod is completely undetectable by online game servers and is safe to use in multiplayer. The mod is built into the controller hardware — there is no software or app required.

How does the Build Your Own controller customizer work?
Our Build Your Own tool lets you design a fully custom Xbox Series X/S or PS5 controller in real time with over 50 million possible combinations. You can customize shell colors, buttons, thumbsticks, triggers, and add performance upgrades like TMR thumbsticks, Rapid Fire, and Mouse Click face buttons. What is the difference between a Build Your Own controller and a pre-designed controller?
Our pre-designed controllers feature exclusive Custom Controllerzz designs crafted by our in-house team. The Build Your Own tool gives you full control over every color and detail, with millions of possible combinations. Both options start with authentic new Microsoft or Sony controllers and are hand assembled by our team. The choice comes down to whether you want an exclusive ready-made design or a fully personalized creation.
Can I add performance upgrades through the Build Your Own tool?
Yes. The Build Your Own customizer includes the option to add TMR thumbsticks, Rapid Fire mods, and — for PS5 — Mouse Click face buttons. All upgrades are available to configure directly within the tool before you place your order.

Ordering & Shipping

How long does it take to build and ship my controller?
Our standard processing time is 3–5 business days, followed by free FedEx 2-Day shipping for all US customers. If you need it faster, we offer Priority Processing (2–3 business days) and Rush Processing (same business day build and shipping for orders placed before 3 PM EST). Processing options are available at checkout.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is free on all US orders via FedEx 2-Day delivery. No minimum order required.
Do you ship internationally?
Please add items to your cart and proceed to checkout to see available shipping options for your country. If your country does not appear in the shipping options, unfortunately we are unable to ship there at this time. International shipping rates and times are calculated automatically at checkout.
How do I track my order?
You will receive a shipment confirmation email with FedEx tracking information within 24–48 hours of your order shipping. You can also click the My Account / Order Status link at the top of our site to check your order status at any time.
Can I cancel or change my order after placing it?
Once an order has begun processing it can no longer be modified or cancelled. If you need to make a change, please contact our customer service team as soon as possible at sales@customcontrollerzz.com or call us at 800-214-4342 and we will do our best to accommodate you before the build begins.
My order never arrived — what should I do?
First, check your FedEx tracking number via the My Account / Order Status page. If tracking shows your order as delivered but you haven't received it, please contact our customer service team at sales@customcontrollerzz.com or 800-214-4342 and we will help resolve it promptly.
I received the wrong product — what should I do?
We're sorry about that! Please contact our customer service team within 72 hours of receiving your order at sales@customcontrollerzz.com or 800-214-4342 and we will make it right.

Warranty & Returns

What warranty comes with my custom controller?
Every Custom Controllerzz controller comes with a standard 90-day warranty covering manufacturing defects and performance issues. If something isn't right, our US-based team will repair or replace your controller. Extended warranty options are available at checkout: 1-year warranty (add $19.95) or 2-year warranty (add $29.95). Please note that all warranties exclude accidental or physical damage to the controller.
What is your return policy?
We offer a 30-day return policy. If you are not completely satisfied with your custom controller for any reason, you can return it within 30 days of receiving it for a full refund — no questions asked. Please visit our Returns & Exchanges page for full details on how to start a return.

Does the warranty cover stick drift?
Yes — stick drift caused by a manufacturing defect is covered under our 90-day warranty. If you experience stick drift within the warranty period, contact our team and we will repair or replace your controller. If you want long-term protection against stick drift, we recommend adding the TMR thumbstick upgrade at checkout, which eliminates the mechanical wear that causes drift over time. Note that physical or accidental damage is not covered under any warranty tier.

Do I have to pay sales tax?
Sales tax is only applied to orders shipping to New York state, where our facility is located.
When will my credit card be charged?
Your credit card is charged immediately when your order is placed.
When will a refund appear on my account?
Refunds typically appear within 7–10 business days from the date we receive your returned item, depending on your bank or card issuer.
How do I use a coupon or promo code?
